5 minutes after unpacking the camera I was out the door and heading to the nearest interesting place I could find to test out the camera. 2 minutes down the road and I came across a graveyard, so I popped the Panasonic G3 out and started snapping.

Manual of the Instructions!

Yes a bit backwards I know, but thats a typical bloke thing to do. Unwrap everything, build it or play with it before even looking at a manual. Of course us men are more intelligent than that...why would we ever need to read something that we can find out ourselves...we laugh and throw the instructions over our shoulder. That is until we get stuck...and we always get stuck somewhere down the line, its just a matter of time...and subbornness.

I'm no exception...and thats why I'm here reading a manual. Although I've been quite lucky as the manual is only very small : )    ...time to do some homework....

Small...but mighty!

Yes, after finishing off the short film 'Wheels of Fortune' (www.wheelsoffortune.co.uk), made with the help of Screen South, U Screen and the BFI, we were back together again....continuing our journey...fighting our way into the film and television industry. This time we had a chance to prove ourselves to the big boys at Panasonic.....

News comes fast!

Arrrrh....yeahhhhhhhh....yipppeeeeeeee....wowwwww.....some more arrrhhhhhhhs! These were the sounds of joy...although could easily be mistaken for the sound of someone having a major panic attack. Yes, good news had come fast...it was only the next day and already we had been told that our pitch had been choosen...we had got the job!

No one could ever explain that sort of feeling I had. I felt like a little kid at christmas but with the powers of superman, I had so much energy. 'Right' I thought 'I'm never going to get to sleep tonight unless I go waste some of this energy'. So I dragged my housemate Anthony out and danced the night away...obviously had a few drinks too.............many... : ) but thats a whole story on it own.....

Panasonic G3 Urban Fusion Pitch

Don't ask me how as it's all a bit of a blur...but some how we got the chance to pitch to Panasonic. The job is for a 3 mintue promo and a 3 minute behind the scenes, showcasing the new (and not yet released) Panasonic Lumix G3 camera. After David Proud's initial chat about his idea of an urban dance video in the streets of London, we produced a pitch to send off to Panasonic. It included a rough idea of what we wanted to do and show in the 3 minute video and as we were looking at urban street dancing culture we decided to call our pitch 'URBAN FUSION'

"Originating from the streets of New York, breakdancing or b-boying is one of the most popular styles of street dancing. It’s free flowing nature encourages contact and interaction with other dancers and spectators, giving a sense of unity to its often improvisational style. Influenced by hip-hop music, it’s fashion and urban graffiti links have made it more than just a form of dance, it’s a way of living…we call this ‘Urban Fusion’." - Taken from our pitch

Now the pitch was ready, all we had to do now was wait......arrrrhhh....bitting nails....hair falling out (not that much more can come out)...!
